Everyone has been awaiting Kenny Lattimore’s return to the mainstream.  You can tell that Kenny is ready to amke it big in 2012 due to his eagerness to write and produce many of his own songs.

Kenny believes that his “musical purpose was speaking to the hearts of women and to the minds of men…really giving them that lyrical content  and love songs that encourage continue them to love and be in relationships.”

Kenny has always been inspired by the ladies, especially when he was little growing up and performing at local talent shows.  Even the girls were screaming for him back in the day!  When it was time to get into the music industry, Kenny Lattimore thought he should be with a label due to the overwhelming technological advances in marketing and social media strategies that came with promoting an album.  But by having his own label, he can focus on the old marketing strategies of going to local radio stations and meeting the people and fans that made him who he is today.

The new music falls in line with DMX’s former releases, both sonically and in subject matter. On the EP, he focuses on overcoming adversity (“Where I Wanna Be”) and makes his trademark references to his “dogs” (“Where My Dogs At,” and S**t Don’t Change,” ft. Snoop Dogg).

“It was incredible,” DMX told MTV News, about working with Snoop and Tyrese, who also appears on the EP. “I just happened to call Snoop while I was in the studio, he answered the phone, I sent him the joint, the next day I had it back,” he recalled. “I appreciate the fact that the love is still there. I look forward to working with more artists. I normally don’t work with too many artists, but these have always been friends of mines.”

DMX bit into the rap scene in 1998, when he snagged two No. 1 albums in the same year with the turbulent discs, It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot and Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood.

Last month DMX had a breakdown on an episode of Couples Therapy when he cried out for his “mommy” and delved into the emotional source of his previous drug use.

The scrappy rapper, who has become known for his many run-ins with the law, is now happy to put music first.

“I wish it was always like that but you can’t really worry about what people think, what they say. I just gotta do me,” he said. “The focus is on taking the music seriously, as a job, and less trouble.”

DMX is also working on his seventh studio album, Undisputed, which is set to be released in the fall. You can download or listen to the Weigh In here.

The festival will be a two-day event for the first time in its nine-year history. The extra day brings a grouping of artists from different eras and regions. New York City veteran rapper, Nas, is on the bill with Compton, California newcomer Kendrick Lamar. On-fire present-day spitters such as 2 Chainz, Wiz Khalifa and J. Cole, will rock the same stage as luminaries such as Naughty By Nature and Salt-N-Pepa.

But not every rapper on the bill will actually be on the stage. Lupe Fiasco, who performed at the festival in years past, was listed on the flyer. But he announced via Twitter that it was a “typo,” and that he would not be on the set.

During the course of his interview with GQ, it seems one of Bieber’s entourage made a rude remark about Kardashian and replies, “You guys are so mean, bro…People say she doesn’t do anything; she actually does do stuff…She works hard.”

For the Kardashian doubters, calling her a hard worker might sound like a stretch. But perhaps that’s based on Bieber’s own idea of hard work. The GQ interviewer, who hung out with Bieber in the recording studio while he worked on his forthcoming album, remarks that, “I have been told repeatedly what a hard worker he is, but in two nights—Bieber only records at night—I’ve witnessed him work for a grand total of forty minutes.” Perhaps he was in a creative drought?

Bieber and Kardashian haven’t been seen together a lot lately, possibly due to their busy and conflicting schedules, but when he sat down with MTV after the premiere of “Boyfriend,” he talked about working with current Kardashian paramour Kanye West who appears on Bieber’s forthcoming album.

When asked if he knew about the Kardashian/West romance, Bieber joked, “She didn’t even call me! It was crazy.” And kidded around about West, “taking my women.” Watch out, Selena Gomez.
