“Queen of Soul”, Aretha Franklin is engaged to longtime friend William (Willie) Wilkerson,who is a former Detroit firefighter. Franklin and Wilkerson were engaged over the Christmas holiday.

In a statement from the iconic singer, Franklin said that she and Wilkerson are considering a summer wedding, perhaps in Miami Beach, Fla.

She is planning to follow the ceremony with a reception on a private yacht.

Wilkerson is described as a “close friend and confidant for many, many years” to Franklin.

Franklin, who is considering Vera Wang, Valentino or Donna Karan to design her dress, has been married twice before.
