Hi Judge Mathis,
I’m friends with a man from the US VIRGIN ISLANDS. He married a female their and he didn’t use his legal first name but used his legal last name when he signed the marriage certificate….is he legally married and if so….could their be consequence for this action?

How’s it going. I bought a timeshare some years ago. It is not user friendly. It’s expensive to use even for members. How do you get out? There seem to be scams that say they can sell it for you but have loopholes.

Greetings, I’m 37 and a mother of three,two of whom are mentally and behaviorally chanllenged and have been sexually assaulted by a family member.My daughter revealed at the age of 12 that my nephew assaulted her.This resulted in a terminated pregnancy,which lead to the contraction of swine flu,then an induced coma because her body was in respitory failure.And on top of all that my mom died within days of this.My daughter has battled mental issues since 6 and in hindsight i ‘m wondering if her assault had been going on the whole time.At any rate she is deeply disturbed at this point.My son has been having issues since 5 but just revealed i april of 2011 that he was assaulted too and currently he resides in a group home because his acting out is so outrageous ,i didnt know what else to do before he got hurt or someone else and i feel the same about my daughter being a danger to herself or others.I KNOW this is a lot to read..my major concern is that is that my exhusband isn’t helping.please help meeeeeeee!

I rented my home for 2 years. The tenant moved out, and upon doing a walkthru after their moving out I found that the tenant removed and discarded 6 sets of vertical blinds without written or verbal approval. They even failed to clean the home and carpets. Can’t I charge them for the replacment value of these items. I am even willing to waive the cost of labor. My home has custom sized windows, not standard sizes so it will not be cheap to replace those blinds. Do i have to depreciate the cost based on the age of them? Every blind was operable and color coordinated for each room and are no longer being manufactured.

My friend just found out that his grandmother passed away 2 days ago because one of her friends had a power of attorney, and kept the family from knowing that their loved one was in the hospital. During this time she sold a trailer and its contents for $500 even though it was written in her living will that it was to go to her grandson. Some other items that were supposed to be inherited by other family members were also sold. What can we do to recover these things or what can be done in general?

My name is Billy jackson. I am the owner of Olympic Advanced Driving School. My driving school was closed down by the Illinois Secretary of State (SOS). In 2005 when I applied for my school license I informed the SOS that I worked at a Hillcrest High School. In 2009 the SOS created a law that prohibited onwners of driving schools to work at high schools as a driving instructor.
I worked only 4 weeks at Hillcrest High School in June 2009. The SOS came to my driving school in July 2009 and closed me down. The SOS could have gave me a verbal warning or a written warning (violation), or give me the opportunity to correct the violation. They simply closed me down.
The SOS violated my rights of due process. Their own Illinois Administrative Code stated that before you cancel a driving school or an instructors licensing the SOS must hold a hearing. The SOS cancelled both of my licenses and then gave me a hearing month later.
In addition the Illinois Administrative Procedure Act states that at the hearing the person should have the right to show compliance for the continuation, or retention of your licenses.
The SOS refused to follow their own code or the Illinois Administrative Procedure Act.
At the Hearing the employees of the SOS lied under oath and suppressed evidence. I have documents to suppourt my statements
I have voted for Jessie White my entire adult life and will continue to do so. It is not Mr. White who is corrupt, it is the people who work for him that need to be investigated. Please help me
expose the arrogance and the wrongdoing of this particular Department of the SOS which is located in Elk Grove, Ill. (Teen Section)

Dear Steve Harvey or to whom it may concern:
Hi my name is Aida Rodriguez I am a single mother of 3. I decided to finally persue into my career by becoming a medical assistant and phlebotomist. I graduated on Nov 11th 2011. It was an awsome ceromony and I made my self proud and my family by succeding on what I was determine and love to do. Only problem is that I need your advice on what to do with a tiny record that I have. I’m sorry to say that when I was younger and only with one child I committed a crime that left me with a baby grand larcney 2001 in the State of Florida. Since then I vowed to myself that I would never put myself thru that again. I vowed to earn an honest living. It’s been hard thru the years but my children mean everything to me. I wanted to not only show that I could do it, but also show my children that it is possible to succeded if you believe and are determined. My mom told me that you know Judge Mathis and that maybe he can give me some anwsers on what to do. I am so limited on funds. But I would love for my record to be exponged. Please, Steve I’m hoping that this will come to you thru GOD. Because I want to be able to get a good job without having to worry about that stupid past I used to live. I am ready to be that independent Puerto Rican/Black women who listen to Obama and said Yes I can……;

Hello Mr. Harvey
My name is Billy Jackson. I am the owner of Olympic Advanced Driving school located in Chicago Heights, Illinois. I started my driving school in 2005 and in June of 2009 the Illinois Secretary of State (SOS), closed my driving school. A month later on August 10, 2009, the SOS gave me a hearing. At the hearing the SOS two main witnesses lied under oath. In addition, the SOS had a file on my driving school and at the hearing the witnesses and their attorney stated that they did not know where my file was, so evidence was suppressed. What has happened to me is a travesty. It is like someone taking your house or car and then giving you hearing a month later. My driving school is consider as my property. Strangely enough I still believe in Jessie White and voted for him in the last elecetion. I just hope and prayer to God that justice prevail. I would like to find out what Judge Mathis opinion would be concerning the violation of my due process rights.
