Sandi Jackson Shares Her Anguish Over Her Husband’s Affair

It’s the age-old story… adultery. For many women and men, after a partner’s affair, the marriage/relationship is worth having. For Ald. Sandi Jackson, wife of U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. , it is a time for anguish as well as forgiveness.

Last week, when news broke of U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.’s extramarital relationship with a blond nightclub hostess, Mrs. Jackson told reporters she did not take the matter lightly.”I put my foot knee-deep in his ass and he has been having a very difficult time sleeping peacefully since then”, said Mrs. Jackson.

In a recent interview, Mrs. Jackson talked about her private anguish, while holding her public office of alderman.

She also admitted that after hearing of very prominent Americans and the issues of infidelity they dealt with, (i.e. Tiger Woods, Bill Clinton) she felt that the wives should have left immediately; she said that each and every circumstance presents different outcomes: “But when the ‘beast’ lands at your door, it can be a very, very different experience. No one really knows what they are going to do until they are in that situation. When it happens to you it’s amazing how what you once thought was black and white becomes variations of a color called gray.”

Mrs. Jackson said that her husband made her aware of the affair some time ago and that day-to-day tasks have been difficult. She also disclosed that she and Jackson went to marriage counseling to save her marriage.
